Defining installation parameters

Define new installation parameters to tailor the system to your working environment. Set up system-wide defaults to determine settings such as whether department security is on or off or the number of days before a password expires for users. HxGN EAM installation sets up default values, also known as "installation codes" or "installation parameters." You can also edit existing installation parameters.

Note: Only qualified HxGN EAM system administrators should create installation parameters, with specific guidance and approval from your Infor consultant. Contact your Infor consultant to create installation parameters.

Select Administration > Security > Install Parameters.
Click New Record.
Specify this information:

Install Parameter

Specify a unique code identifying the installation parameter, and then provide a description of the installation parameter in the adjacent field.
Note: You cannot define fixed install parameters or assign new install parameters to a module.

Value

Specify the default value for the parameter.
Click Save Record.
